All-on-4 dental implants uses just 4 dental implants to support a complete set of new teeth to either the upper or lower jaw.
The 4 dental implants are made of titanium metal posts which are embedded into your jaw and act as the new replacement tooth root. A bridge containing your new teeth will then be fixed to these posts. Your new teeth sit in the gums and look and function just like natural teeth.

What is the process for All On 4 Dental Implants ?
Your consultation with our treatment coordinator
At the initial consultation, the treatment coordinator, who is a trained implant nurse, will discuss your options and take photographs of your mouth, make sure your medical history is complete and explain the whole procedure, pricing and timing of all-on-4 dental implants. Your questions and concerns shall all be discussed in preparation for your in depth consultation with the surgeon.
At Wolds Dental Studio we will use our CBCT (Cone Beam CT) scan to give us a highly accurate visual image of your teeth and jaw. This detailed scan allows us to identify any possible issues with your mouth and will enable us to accurately place your all-on-4 dental implants during surgery.
All-on-4 dental implant surgery
On the day of your dental implant surgery, you will arrive at the dental practice in Market Rasen. We will put you at ease and once you are ready, will give you a local anaesthetic which will numb the specific area in your mouth. The 4 dental implants will be gently inserted into your upper or lower jawbone, you will be awake but will not feel anything.
Once the dental implant surgery is complete, a temporary bridge containing prosthetic teeth will be attached to the dental implants so that you do not have to wait for your final bridge with gaps in your mouth.
Healing
The formal healing period for all-on-4 dental implants is between 2 and 6 months and during this time it allows the dental implants to fuse with your jawbone. It also gives your gums a chance to recover.
You may find that for a day or two after your all-on-4 dental surgery, your mouth and gums will be sore, and it may take you a couple of days to feel like returning to work or your usual routines. Other people may take a bit longer.
You will be able to eat, drink, talk and smile with your temporary bridge.
During this healing time, we will make your permanent bespoke bridge containing your new set of prosthetic teeth for you.
New bridge is fitted
Once your gums have healed sufficiently, we will invite you back to the dental practice in Market Rasen to have your bespoke bridge attached to your dental implants. This will contain your new set of teeth which will be custom-made to fit your mouth and made of the exact shade of colour chosen before your dental implant surgery.
Your all-on-4 dental implant process is complete, and you will now have a brand-new smile with stunning looking teeth.
Maintenance for all-on-4 dental implants
Maintaining a good oral hygiene is essential after having all-on-4 dental implants fitted as it helps to keep your gums healthy and increases the longevity of your dental implants. Brush and floss your teeth at least twice a day and visit your dentist and hygienist regularly.

The all-on-4 dental implant surgery will not hurt you because you will be given a local anaesthetic which numbs the area in your mouth. Some patients experience some soreness in the next few days, but this is manageable with paracetamol.
